Question confuzed

Heres what ive got going on,and why im confuzed. 3 weeks ago i towed my truck to the dodge dealership for an injection pump recall, dodge fixed my truck, they put a brand new Cummins I/P on with all new seals and hardware for free. After they were finished i drove my truck home and the next day proceeded to improve everything a little (fuel screw maxed, put my POD's back in, gov.spring,ect). my truck ran like a dream. a week later i fixed all my vacume pump seals and my timing cover gasket and while i was in there i peened my KDP. Until now i was never allowed to park my truck in the driveway because it leeked so much oil. so now every time i park on the sloped driveway my truck wont fire up the way it should. It will crank and crank and it will fire then go back to cranking again then...it will fire up and run,and thats if im facing down hill. If im facing up hill it will fire up but it doesnt have that nice healthy pop to it when it fires like these old girls usualy do. but if i park it on flat ground it starts perfectly every time with no hesitation.i thought maybe something in my pump was moving when parked on the slopes affecting the way it starts but its a brand new pump so i cant figure out whats going on so im asking all of you. any ideas are appreciated.
thanks, John

It's sucking air back into the fuel system. Check the fuel lines , see if they are tight.

Definitly sounds like a fuel leak! My dad had the same issue on one of his trucks. It turned out to be the return line back to the fuel tank. Very easy to check. Get about 12ft of 3/8 fuel line hose and clamps and test each one. Thats what we did because we couldnt find the leak any other way!

I would start at the injection pump, being that was disturbed, if no luck there then check at the fuel filter, bleeder bolt and return line.

Also check the fuel shut off connection. mine's been acting a little flaky lately, and a quick pull and reconnect and it fires right up. They may have spread teh terminal.

Stock Cummins lift pumps suck. I know mine runs different on a hill than on flat ground. They are set up to produce like 5psi at idle, and 2psi at WOT....I'd upgrade the lift pump if you still have a stocker and see if that helps

Sounds like fuel is draining back from the pump. Could be an air leak (very likely considering you just had an new IP put on) and the lift pump could be letting the fuel drain back (I've had this happen).

I would start at the injection pump outlet return and work my way back.

i thought myself that maybe it could be the lift pump, shouldnt it hold pressure to the I/P even with the engine off
