Compressor temp.

Doese anyone have an idea how hot the compressor housing gets? I'm waiting on an upgrade kit from GDS and would like to powder coat it before putting it on. Normal P.C. is rated at 600-700 degrees, High temp is rated at 1000 deg. but is very limited in color choice.

Thanks,
Matt

I don't know the answer to that question but when you calll GDS ask Steve. Tell him that you want to powder coat it and he might have a answer for you.

I think I would have it HPC coated. That way the temp levels would be a non issue and all fancy looking.

I have had plenty of headers done in the past...the stuff is quite durable. I also had the firebox in my corn stove done...so far with two years of burning on it it's still fresh looking.

Normal powder coating should be no problem. 600-700*F is pretty hot, you'd have to run the turbo charger way off the map for a while to get that kind of temp, pistons would be long gone before then.

Just make sure they don't powder coat the inside.

Try Duracaot heat it can handle about 1800 deg and you paint it on with a air brush
