clutch
clutch
i decided to start a new thread. if you havn't read my old thread "what do i have" i have been trying to figure out what clutch my getrag came with since it is not stock.
my question is since i have the smaller aftermarket clutch can i still use this flywheel and a 13" clutch?
i do know that my flywheel seems to have more machined out of the center then the stock based off a picture i have seen. not where the bushing goes but more of where the flywheel bolts are. it is deeper.
are the clutch's used on the nv4500 same, are they interchangeable?
someone also mentioned i should change the clutch fork and pivot ball. do they normally go bad? or is this just because i have it apart?
thanks any other thoughts would be great

Yea it is but i don't trust it because it doesnt say anything about it actually being a sach's..... and no pic.
You can get a factory Sach's 13" clutch through Peter at southbend clutch. http://www.southbendclutch.com/dodge.html

hahah no way.
its a LUK clutch. I've heard bad about them because most of their aftermarket clutches are not even 13" like factory.

A factory 1st gen flywheel will have a machined lip around the outer edge of the pressure plate side. It centers the PP. I don't know if this is manditory for the Sachs setup or not. I kind of think it would be.
Is the center opened up? Where the spring hub goes?

talked to the guy from valair clutch. great guy told me i do have the original flywheel. which i wondered and gave me some suggestions. im thinking of buying a 13" kit which comes with a new flywheel machined out with the new bearing installed, as well as the center opened up for the larger spring hub. they are having a 100$ off sale for their kits. looking at around 500 to 600 depending on what i go with. i think that is not to bad considering all the machining has been done to the flywheel.
