Sounds like you guy's had the same issue I had with one of our 93's.

How bad was your frame? I had to cut the lower web off for about 2 feet to clean the mess up so I could have something to weld new metal to.

My frame was worse then Bradshaws. The area by the fuel tank on mine looked like a steak knife. Mine also had very deep pits. It really should have been junked, but I saved it.

If those frames looked like that cross member it would be worth the trip to get one... well maybe i should just get a nice south western truck

on another note, thanks for going thru the effort of cutting it out of the old truck. that thing is sweet! my wife said it was the nicest part on the truck now what does she know?? she will never understand my love for the ol' dodge....

kind of diggin up a old thread but i want to do the same swap on my w350.

any finished pics? any more info? how did you get around the box mount? how does your shackle angle look with the positions you chose?

very interested as there is NO other info on the net it seems!

Ah, come on...you just didn't look hard enough!!

Here's a thread I did on my W250 using the Chevy 63" rear springs, 6" front alcans, and Bilstein 7100 RRs with custom mounts.

Generally, the 63" Chevy spring swap is called the "Monster rear suspension". If you google that, there's a lot that comes up. Shaggy's offroad was original with it, I believe.

Your build I can't see cause I'm not a member, and the link you posted the guy says pics to follow but it's hard to follow the idea when he hasn't posted pics!

Difficult to go out and buy steel and make cuts without having a good idea of someone elses plan.

I'll spare you the details, but here's a couple pics. The other thread is reasonably detailed.















It can pull a full 12" travel front, and 14" rear. The design of rear shock mounts combined with valving in the 7100s eliminates the need for traction bars. 7100 steering stabilizer as well. The tires are 35", and can completely droop out of the fender wells, and stuff completely without rubbing.

I blew through the valving on the front driver's side shock, jumping a double train hump. At 65 mph and a 5 foot vertical drop, it just started rubbing on the fender in front...looks like I'll be installing some 4" Bilstein bump stops next

is the rear shackle angle working for you? last truck i built had similar vertical shackle angle and i was told it should be angled back more towards 45*. i suppose your flex pics show it works just fine :P

rear shackle flip is mounted in stock hangar location?

front hangar is moved forward using top front bolt holt?

did you use the template from the monster suspension for the brackets?

and lastly im assuming the ride quality has increased alot? my stock gasser w350 is teeth jarring at anything more then 15kmh on logging roads and a handfull on any bumpy road.

Pics of my swap. I used "Jungle's" hangers off of RCC. and the springs are from a 1 ton GM truck.









Pic of how it sat when back on all fours.


Mine was not built for flex, but rather a better ride and to get away from using the tall factory block.
