CD player Issues.

CD player Issues.

Well i bought a Sony CD player(brand NEW) there are 3 wires that im really concerned with to power it up. Constant 12v, Illumination, and the ACC. i hook up all 3 of them and the ground and i get nothing any ideas? any help would be appreciated. thanks

Double check your connections, especially your ground. You could try connecting it directly to the battery via alligator clips or similar just to make sure the deck is not defective.

I always fire them up on the bench before I put them in. Most aftermarket sets I have put in do not have a illumination wire. Should have 8 speaker wires if its a 4 channel set up, a power antenna or amp signal wire, 1 power all the time, 1 power with key or constant if you want your sterio to work without key on, and ground. Some ground through the antenna lead. It sounds like you are tessting it correctly if you have all the + wires together and your ground on it should work.

well after about 3 hours of messing with it i had it professionally installed at circuit city, come to find out they do free installations if you purchase a CD player from there. it took them a little over an hour. Thanks again guys
