can i bottom out my smoke screw?
The smoke screw maxed just gives full fuel at no boost. Power increase, not much if any. It may light the turbo sooner to feel like it pulls better on the bottom end. The hidden power is in the fuel screw. Thats a whole different story.

I'm pretty sure the farther you run the smoke screw down the worse fuel mileage you get on the highway because it pushes the fuel pin down farther.
I took the nut off our smoke screw and ran it down ALOT and running 65mph on the highway with no o/d and 3.07's it was boostin like 6 psi... backed it out and now running 65mph its like 3-4 psi depending on ambient temp. outside.

yea i took the nut off and ran it all the way down. It dose feel a liitle more responsive on the bottom end, but it might just be all in my mind. You kno i love this old truck. Id rather drive it than my 01. And alot of people dont understand why i would rather ride in around in an old stinky, rattling truck. But the old girl just puts the biggest grin on my face. And its actually something i can work on and not have to worry about a computer. Thanks for all your help guys. Yall are definantly the most help of anybody on this forum
