Cam Time

Dad and I are in the process of rebuilding an '89 cummins motor. The cam has some light pitting so we figured we might as well replace it. He will be running a Super HX40 or a Super B. We live at 4,000 ft. and travel up a lot.

What cam would you all recommend? Colt? Hamilton?

I'd get one that broadens the power curve and lowers peak torque RPM. But that's me. I'm going to go with a Colt stage 2 when it comes time.

A roller lifter and cam kit would be a neat upgrade, I wonder if such a thing exists?

Roller is negligible gains.

HAving talked to the man himself, my vote is for Zach Hamilton. When I get a cam, he is getting my business

When I talked to him he said Colt's stage 1 was probably a better fit for what I was wanting, lowest RPM possible at peak torque.
