Calling mr Martin

Trying to get my truck back together; when I turn my headlights on both turn signal indicators come on.. Ideas? Didn't do this before paint and I realley didn't muck with the wiring so a bit confused.... Also the turn signals don't work at all now...

I agree. Headlight current is returning through turn signals.

Sometimes bad grounds can even baffle an "expert". I just had a bad ground in a trailer tail light kill the turn signal, and also light the turn signal in the second trailer. (double tow) With the tail/clearance lamps off, everything seemed to be normal. Baffled me for a bit, but it was just the old oxidized bulb problem. It can really get wild when sensitive relays are involved.

All the grounds are in the FSM-8 wiring diagrams. Find them and detail them.

LEDs can do this as well. I put LEDs in the front parking light housings and the indicators are on when the running lights are activated (not enough current draw due to the LEDs). With the running lights ON, the turn signals barely flash and the hazards don't even function at all. With everything OFF, the turn signals and flashers work properly. It's only affected with LEDs in the front. I put LEDs in my taillights and didn't have a single issue. The indicators in the gauge cluster aren't lit.

Funny business these electrical systems.

Thanks guys! Been busy to reply but the firewall ground and a bad parking light receptive were the issues!

Again many thanks! It could have taken many hours to figure that out!
