Well by the sounds of it, Saturday is d-day for the roof, unless something comes up with the body shop. Fingers crossed 🤞. Should all go smoothly

I wish I wasn't 4.5 hours away from you, as I would volunteer my day just to be part of this process

Best way to fix that would be to remove the window and then cut the cab off. Go to a metal place and buy 1/16 sheet metal for about $100 or buy a stamp out online for $500 top and bottom. For 1K though... cheaper to find a donor at that point.

i wont have any more that $250 bucks in this. Only had to pay for the donor roof and a few small odds and ends. Going to drill out spot welds and put it back together like factory

Well the body shop couldn’t get me in for a while, and after thinking about it, I decided I could do it myself. Got the outer skin off today, hopefully get the rest of the rust out by the end of the week and start putting the new on over the weekend.

ill make a new thread once this is all done explaining step by step with pictures of how I went about doing this.

after thinking about it, it really isn’t as hard as many would think it is. Hopefully once this is all done and I can explain it better, it will make sense to everyone

Got the outer skin sitting on the truck. It has to come back off to put on the drip rail, and fix the rust on the inner roof.but shouldn’t be long and it will be like new again

Very impressive. If you can do all that I'm surprised you even considered a body shop!
