Bill, do you have any or could you take some pictures of your mounts for me?
Here's what I'm seeing. The bed needs to slide back about 1" but it doesn't seem as though the gap would close between the frame and bed mounts. Granted this is on the '91.5 but I think the '90 C&C frame should be similar over the axle.

The difference may be the cab-chassis frame.
The mount brackets on the cab-chassis may be for attaching various work-bodies, instead of pick-up beds.
Can you poke you head under a regular pick-up and compare ??
How does the bed crease line up with the cab crease ??

As for the bed being put on my cab and chassis, I intend to drill out/remove the rivets of the mounting brackets from the pick-up frame and attach them to my cab and chassis frame (bolted to the bed first so that they will be in the proper position before attaching them to the frame with grade 8 bolts.
And if by crease you mean body line, they would line up perfect if the bed sat down on the frame mounts.
I just took a second look and as best I can see, there is nothing interfering with the bed sitting on the frame as it should. The only thing I see being the issue on the pick-up frame are the little feet in the 3rd and 4th pictures I initially posted.
I can't give specifics on years or models, but some trucks have curved frame rails over the axle, some have flats stamped into them. Your box is for the curved frame, and the frame you have has the flats. You just need to remove the angled supports from the box. Each support is spot welded on in 4 places. A 3/8" drill through the spot welds will take them right off. Been there, done that.
The c/c frame will look like the frame you show in the picture. The box is hitting the frame flats with those pesky little angled supports welded to the box. just remove them from the box. You will need to remove all 4.
We have alot of 91-93 dodge trucks at my work. some have the frame with flats, some have the angles. No rhyme or reason as to why. Maybe it had something to do with mexico/ canada/ us plants.
