bucking???????????please help

bucking???????????please help

today my truck like almost stals out it like bucks then you left off the fuel and it will come back to life? any ideas also to day it had been hard to stat i have to give it fuel to start the motor never had to do this befor. im gunna go out side and put a new lift pump and filter one how hard it s to replace lift pump???

Its a fairly easy job, very straight forward. I did mine outside in the cold a month ago and it took about an hour. If you are still running hardslines from the pump to filter you may have to remover the banjo from the filter (heater) inlet to bolt the new pump on. Having new banjo washers would be a good idea. Mine were old and leaked when I reused them.

yea i was thinking that too the filters not that old though i cant figure out why i would have cloged it, i did drain open the fuel drain the other day and the fuel that came out was very grity feeling

May be time to drop the tank and clean it out.

You probably just got some bad fuel.
Change the filter, maybe cut it open to see it.

yea thats kinda what i was thinking too but idk i put a new lift pump on and new filter even if i didnt need the lift pump i think it was a good idea at 250k and never changed. i work at napa so it cost me next to nothing any way. i think my bucking problem might have been from that wire that goes to the shut off selenoid. it was very lose so i cut it off and recrimed it. thanks for the help
