Brake and wheel parts from rock auto or local auto store?

Ok so rock auto may be cheaper but is there and different quality in the parts vs buying at a local auto store? Depending on the parts from rock auto shipping is a killer but some times the price is much better

I am completely rebuilding the brakes with ever new and all new lines and doing the hydro boost upgrade on my dumptruck, while I’m at it I plan to add ac I have the lines but need to order the rest of the parts has any one had bad luck with the parts from rock shove buying from your local Napa or auto zone there is a new o’Reillys going in right now so not sure of there quality

I've never been disappointed by Rock Auto quality. But I don't buy their cheapest choice. I've bought brake cylinders several times from O'Reilly's and they have all leaked within a year. I think they sell a lot of Chinesium. IMHO Napa is usually good but their store was always far from me so I didn't get there often. Now I'm closer so I get more from them. I got my battery from them and it's a strong one.

I just didn’t know the chances of something being incorrect compared to being able to exchange it at the store and I always buy the best quality no matter we’re it comes from as long as it’s not moog

I find rockauto usually has many choices but my parts store has only 1 or 2.

I often buy their cheaper offerings. The catch with heavy parts is high freight, and I usually just eat core charges (or pick new vs rebuilt).

Most of the time even with the core charge it’s half the cost of what my local place is priced at

Axel parts, I go straight to Spicer. Brake parts, I go to Brake Performance.

I like RockAuto. For one thing there is one of their warehouses about ten miles away. I like the fact that they categorize the parts by quality. The shipping can be high because they charge shipping for each warehouse which can add up. They do list which warehouse it will be shipped from. I usually try to buy parts coming from the same warehouse. This option is not always available. They also ship super fast. I haven’t bought anything but wiper blades and such from local parts houses in years. They are always cheaper than local even with the shipping…Mark

So I ended up going with everything from rock auto I’m not in a huge rush to get everything so I was able to order some of the stuff and have the brake hoses rushed and I was able to take my time on getting the other parts as I don’t need them right away, thanks a lot for the info guys

Sounds like you're all set but one thing to consider if you go local, like Autozone for instance, they are a little bit spendier for their "elite" top brand pads and "gold" high carbon rotors but they come with a lifetime warranty so just keep bringing the pads in for free ones for the rest of the vehicle's life.
