Brake Lights.

I just installed a new brake booster and master cylinder unit. My dad and I bled the brakes, but we have a problem. My brake lights are on and will not go off. What did we do? How does the brake lights work and how can we fix it??
Thanks

look under your dash at your brake light sensor. its a common problem for them to get pushed back too far to where the brake pedal wont push the little rod in.

I've had my sensor zip-tied for about 3 years now just tightened it to the bracket.

I have the same problem, installed a reman brake booster and master cylinder, reset the brake light switch. reach under the pedal and pull up, it will pop out the switch. Never had that problem before, I am wondering if their is something wrong with the brake booster that the pedal rod would come out that far. Since it has a lifetime warranty I'll probably take it back to compare.

Got her fixed.. The bracket moved and she is working good now. Thanks!! I have a little bit different question now. Before the brakes were soft and came up smooth. Now its soft for the first 1/4 in of movement then they come on like a ton of bricks. Very jerky if I am not linear with it. Can I adjust something to fix this?

i would say your other booster was just junk. my brakes work as you described....until i hook a trailer up. then i use more travel. as soon as my foot is on the pedal my brakes are being applied. i like them like that though
