Brake Caliper help!
All,
I just finished up putting new front wheel bearings, rotors, Mile Marker hubs etc. up front. This is on a 4x4. I was trying to install the calipers and new pads today. It seems that I have the caliper brackets on in the wrong sequence from the knuckle? From the front knuckles, I installed the caliper bracket, then spindle. This sequence seems to be keeping the inboard pad from being where it should be - up against the inner rotor. I now have about a 1/2" space, so the inboard pad just drops.
I have the caliper brackets on properly - drivers side, passengers side, with the allen bolt on the bottom facing inside towards the engine.
I am pretty certain I put the spindle and caliper bracket on in the wrong sequence, thus the 1/2" problem? Should the sequence be from knuckle - spindle, caliper bracket? Any help is appreciated! Now I get to take out the hubs etc. and start over
