Bosch Water Pumps

Anyone running one of these? The part # is 97083. On ebay for $24.28 (search Bosch 97083) They are new and not reman and just wondered if they were worth having. Mine has a bad groove on the pulley and I think that's the source of my under-hood chirping. Thoughts?

If, they are real Bosch and not a look-a-like. I think I paid $64 for a Delphi pump over 5 years ago, a Bosch pump was over $100. I would be cautious.

They list the bosch on rock auto for $32. seems like I paid twice that on rock auto several years back when I bought mine.

Cummins is about $120 here with an account.
I got one recently from an online source(can't remember where) that claimed they were genuine Cummins for $53. It came in a different box though. I think they're all China made anymore. My stocker had a tiny cut in the O-ring and was seeping a tiny amount of coolant onto the block which had left a white stain.

I ordered one. If it looks like junk I'll save it for an emergency. $24 won't sting. Keep you posted. Thanks

I bought three of the Bosch pumps from Rock Auto about a year or so ago.

One of them has been on the wife's truck since first receiving them with so-far-so-good results and she drives a lot.

As best I remember, the Bosch pumps are Made in Mexico.

The Airtex from Advance Auto that I put on my personal truck lasted maybe three years before it flew into a million pieces; on the side of the road in a monsoon, I put on the old original "Made in England" pump from 1988/89 and it's second life has already outlasted the shiny new lifetime-warranty Airtex.

I've had one on my '93 for the last 40k and its done good so far. Mine says china somewhere on it, I was pretty disappointed about that. I carry the old pump behind the seat just in case.

That explains the price drop. $42 from Mexico. $24 from China. $200 for an OEM. Paints a sad picture.
