body swap

well, I have a totalled 91 W350, non I/C ,reg cab, with a getrag tranny, I found several non running late 80s 1/2 ton rigs with auto trannies very reasonable priced, should the body swap over with very little aggravation?

many thanks again

should swap over w/ very little issue. Been there, done that, several times.

Might find some differences with bed mounting locations towards the front of the beds, nothing you cant drill holes and fix. I did a complete body swap in one day and drove both trucks home that night.

The W series & the D series use a different floor "hump" over the transmission.
I think you can get around this by "rehumping" that floor section from the W series into the D series. That makes removing the trans a lot easier in the future. Just remember to cut the W hump bigger than the D hump so you can bolt it onto the floor.
