Are all auto trans adapters the same?

I picked up an engine for a future project. The engine came from a wrecked truck and destroyed the flywheel housing(5 speed). I want to run a 727 on this anyway so my question is, are the 727, 518, and so on adapters interchangeable? If not, up to what year would be the same?

1st gen auto adapters should be all the same. 727 diesel and the A518 share the same bolt pattern. The 2nd gen adapter has the same bolt pattern, but is thicker to accommodate the lockup clutch in the torque converter.
