Bio-diese!

Local fuel station about 2 minutes from my house has Biodiesel straight out of the pump! only one in my tri-county area. Its .10 cheaper than diesel as long as you pay cash.

Is this ok to put right in the tank and help lubricity of course? I just wanted to make sure there was no extra filters needed. ULSD is no good for our pumps so we usually put a quart of dieselkleen in it.

Is there any benefit to it besides cleaner burning and .10 cheaper ???

Lubricity, 2% bio added to #2 adds 60% lubricity, cleans really good, has a higher cetane rating.

How much are you going to add?

Carry a spare filter, if adding less than 20% probably won't clean too much right away, but if your going 100% then it'll clean really good really fast.

Well since its right out of the pump i figured fill the tank up????

I mean what else would it be there for!! the dude at the station has no idea if we can run it 100% or not, can't even understand him actually, no speakada enles, he just knows can't run it in 07+ diesels.

You think like 50/50 is good ??

You'll be fine at 100%. Just make sure you carry a filter and supporting tools with you. Dino diesel has all kinds of crap in it that builds up in your system over time, bio is an awesome solvent and will clean all that crap right out, thus, you'll have to change your filter more often. If you have a fuel pressure gauge, change filters when you see a pressure drop. Otherwise, just change the filter when you start to notice a little loss of power. You won't have any lubrication issues. I run all kinds of stuff through my 92' and I just keep spare filters in hand.

1st off talk to someone that knows whats going on at the station , what percentage of bio to diesel , as an example , if its B2 - it 2% bio and 98% petro diesel , B20 - is 20% bio and 80% preto diesel .
With an older truck [ it just depends on the quality of the fuel that has been run ] .
I started with 10% , 1 week later my filter was clogged .
As for can you run it , so far it appears that any fuel system will handle it at any percentage , until the common rail systems .
But cold winters are an issue , depending on ambient temp & the base oil the bio is made with , some 100% bio's could be an issue starting at 50*F , some not until as low as 25*F .
The main point is know more about what your doing , to keep issues to a min.

Yeah, almost forgot. We have a station here in Avondale, PA (Amerigreen?)...anyway, they sell "biodiesel" which it turns out is just B2. That's 2% bio and 98% number 2. That's nothing essentially. I run 50/50 diesel (either flavor) and 5 micron dewatered WVO all summer and all I do is change filters when they need it. CR diesels may be more finnicky but then, that's why I don't own one.

I have about 6 gallons of WOM stored up, mostly from my mom's car, Dad's 05 , various vehicles i do oil changes on.

So the truck has a new fuel filter on it right now, purolator, nothing special.

If we fill the tank up with 20 gallons diesel, the rest bio it'll be ok just carry extra filters??

I'll have to find out what bio it is, B2 or what, I think there is a normal american that works there and it may be on the pump.

.10 cents cheaper is good, less emissions is good, better lubricity is good, but the best is (B100, anyway) no money goes to fund the countries that hate us.

Exactly. Fuel - Made in America!

Wouldnt it be nice to say that for every fuel?

I wish there was a bio diesel station near my place...

I have run 100 bio in my rc and my '95 cummins and my '85 mercedes without issue. I have run 4 tanks of 100% bio through a bocat 331 here lately and just started having filter problems yesterday. Changed the filter twice and it is running strong again.
