Bilstein Shocks question
I am looking at buying a set of stock replacement Bilstein shocks for my 93 W250. The shock series is 4100. Does anyone run these or know anything about them? I would like to get a part number for stock replacements. I believe these shocks are the Blue/Yellow ones.
Bilstein Shocks
They are not blue and yellow but silver. Just put 4 on my 1991.5 W250 4 x4had to measure the shocks and then order, they do not list them for out trucks anymore, thus the reason to order based on dimensions. Will try to find the paperwork and post the part #s. Only shock to use in my opinion. Unbelieveable ride now.
Looking for the correct part numbers..........
I have not measured my stock shocks yet. I do want the Silver-colored Bilsteins (I think they are the 5100 series). I contacted Geno's and they can get any Bilstein Shock you want, provided you give them a valid Bilstein part#. I guess at this point I just need a part number for the front & rear shocks in the 5100 series. Is anyone running these on their stock suspension 4x4? I'm hoping someone can pull up a reciept and provide me a good part# to go by. I know I can measure and calculate what I need......but I just want to be 100% sure I'm getting the correct shocks.
Why not go down to your local parts house and ask for a set of OEM shocks for the specific truck and measure them? Thank the parts person. My experience if they are not busy most are very helpful and curious. Or ami missing something?

All your looking for is the max and min lemgth of the shock. Basically extended and compressed. The only other info you should need is how they mount. Cross shaft, ring mount, stud, etc. Once you have that info go to bilsteins site and they have a listing of all their shocks. Pick the shock that fits your specs. As mentioned the parts store guys are worth asking for help if you dont wanna take the 15min to pull a couple shocks.
