The BEST upgrade for an Auto

Swapping the 47rh built by Goerend into my pickup is the best money i've ever spent. I've still got a few things to tinker out but had it on the road for a little bit today running a few errons and WOW!!!! I can fell the shifts, the engine isn't 'wrapped" out all the time, push the acculator down and the truck moves. Its amazing. I've still have to fiddle with the bracket to hold the bracket for the transfer case shift lever, and shorthen and lengthen the rear and front driveshafts, and i think i wired the 3 pin connector for the OD the Lockup wrong cuz i dont have overdrive but the lockup is working. But just from everything else I LOVE it and ive only driven it 20 minutes.

PS i'd like to thank Archer 39 and JD730 for their write ups, they were a great help during and before my swap. THanks.

glad to hear, This swap is becoming real popular lately!! I think 6-8 months ago I was like the 2-3 person to have done it know a hole slew of guys are jumping on board.. It is the best mod by far I think for our old girls, although I really would like to try a 518 O.D with a nice tight tc to compare apples for apples. If your OD worked before the swap it should work now if you have Lock up.. Front wire is o.d which gets wired up the same as before. Back wire is Lu. That will have to be on a switch or Pressure switch however you have it..

Yeah i figured thats how the switch was wired, I've got the LU hooked to a dimmer switch and that works, wired the rest of the 3 pin pluck the way it was before, small 18 gauge in front then the 16 or 14 gauge wire in the middle. ( thats how it was so mite swap them see if that fixes it, i should).
