Question Best gauge Brand over-all???

If I was going to pick only one gauge brand for all of my needs (ie. pyro, boost, trans, water, amp, fuel, tach, speedo, etc..) and wanted them to all match what brand should I get? what brand would you get?

These are the brands I am leaning towards:

- Auto Meter
- Pricol
- Isspro
- Westach

I am an autometer fan I think that they look the best. They have not failed me yet. I had some in my old powerjoke before I converted and they were BA to.

I have Auto Meter gauges in this truck and I see things I do not like about them, main thing being the plastic housings, I have 2 of them where the plastic is starting to deform from the #94 lamp in the chimney.
I am changing these to LED’s as soon as I find the ones that will work the way I want.

On every other truck and car I have ever owned I have always used Stewart Warner and if possible the brass case marine version. I still have a collection of these somewhere in my garage.

If you buy gauges from Napa they are rebadged S/W gauges at least they used to be.

In my Mach-1 mustang I had in the 70’s I had a gauge to monitor engine oil pressure, fuel pressure (on cowl) boost pressure (Paxton) transmission line pressure (FMX trans), engine oil and water temperature, transmission and differential temperature, voltmeter, ammeter and they were all mounted in the dash and in the custom fabricated console all angled to the driver. Totally custom the way I do things.

I had a friend who owned a Speed and Marine Shop so I got everything at cost. I don’t think any gauge was over $40.00 at the time, and Cheveron Supreme 110+ octane (white pump) gasoline was .28 a gallon.

I have Isspro, and have been very dissatisfied from the beginning, pyro died after about 6 months. trans temp gauge is all over the place, jumping 40-60 degrees up. down, up down, boost gauge reads about 10psi low at wot, the only gauge that read right, is the tach..... never again

I have westachs in 2 of my trucks, pyro/boost combos and a fuel pressure in one. Only problem I had was the fuel pressure sender died on me the first week, they sent me a new one and no problems since, been running around 2 years now.

Autometer here, but not as much from a quality standpoint ,altho mine have been trouble free, I have seen other folks have probs w/them. I picked them cause they match the OE guages pretty nicely....does that make me shallow?LOL!

All Isspro. All have worked fine and no problems other than a wire fell out of the contector on the back of the gauge. I plan on getting the fuel pressure gauge to match the rest.
