best brake pads/rotors GEN 1's????
best brake pads/rotors GEN 1's????
Anyone had good luck recently?
There are lots of options: Autozone, Napa, Car Quest- orilly's has 8 different pads. I called and the severe service pads by Raysbestos are NLA.
I've used Akenbono's on other cars with great sucess- they developed the cermic pads. But no listing for GEN 1's.
Rotors- I think all the places carry the same junk. So no option there- no Brembo replacements.
My thoughts were just to get the Autozone preimum semi-metallics or the see if Car Quest blues (mid-line) or possibly get a ceramic preimum from Orilly's. Haven't heard great things from the ECB's.

Try these places for a aftermarket rotor.

I had reservations about both of those places..
They list the rotor as a "67024" where all the parts houses list it as "67025". Thought they might be sending me a 3300 lb axle brake rotors instead of the 4k axle.
I'll take one of and measure the dimensions.

Stainless Steel Brake Corporation (SSBC) has drilled and slotted rotors for our trucks but to the tune of about $150 each. However, I've heard that a lot of performance can be gained by merely replacing the stock, old and soft rubber brake hoses (which can swell over time with applied pressure) with stainless braided hose. Even when using stock rotors and average pads.
