just wandering where anyone that has replaced battery cables is getting them?

 

AFAIK My cables are original. They are 4/0 gauge and except for the battery ends which had been replaced with those cheap clamp on ends. I got some crimp on eyelet ends and used military style terminals on the battery.

Find a welding supply and get some 4/0 cable and have them put the ends on if possible. Then use the military style terminals on the battery. You'll be happy you did.

Like Edwin said, any good welding shop can make them, although mine are made of double 00 welding cable. I once paid over 100 dollars at the dealer for the negative only...Mark

Just like Edwin said, get it made by a good industrial electrical shop. It will cost considerably less, and will be as good (if not better) than OEM ones. Just make sure you have a high-quality battery terminals, and that they are securely fitted to the cable.

I recently replaced my cables with later model Dodge Ram cables. I believe the Positive line is from an early third gen and the Neagtive line is from a later third gen. Worked excellent. Ill have to take some pictures one day.

 

Any good Napa or heavy truck parts store can usually make whatever size you want with parts off the shelf. Mine are 2/0 with stud style ends to run Group 31S batteries. You're probably looking at 50 to 80 bucks for both positive and negative cables.

The terminals I either get from a battery shop or online. Hammer style crimper with copper paste. Heatshrink over top; or tightly taped if I run out. The cable I wait till Princess Auto has it on sale (Harbor Freight may do the same.)

 

I had mine made by a local wire company to my specifications. Napa here couldn't make them.

 

I repaired mine by chopping off the original end and using a solder on battery terminal. Better than original.

I looked at those and decided, nah. I don't want to keep fighting corrosion where the bolt goes through. I have enough problem with that on my 2nd gen.
