Welcome to DTR! The Bank$ stuff is definitely not worth the money. Bank$ doesn't even produce stuff for 1st gens anymore. Anything you find is NOS. Read through the sticky here and you'll get a pretty good idea of what power you can make for little or no invenstment. Is your truck stick or auto?

IMHO, that's not too bad a price for a known great working intercooler that will fall into a non-intercooled truck (complete with all plumbing) and a 3.5" full exhaust, etc.
- While a PS intercooler would be less expensive, one has to figure the aggravation factor of the fab work in making it fit.
- Granted the kit isn't a full 4" exhaust system, for a mildly bombed truck, 3.5" is good enough.
I don't know that it'd be wise to dismiss that kit right away.

Before you even consider that link to to be true............You had better fallow it all the way thru.............I'M sure banks hasn't decide to re- release the first gen kits............And if this guy has only one kit...........and there is something missing........You are out of luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
I chased a bunch of them links down and they ALL said they had them in stock(this was 2 years ago).......when in reality, they had to order them directly from banks........and banks don't make them any more!
I finally install my own intercooler system.........and it would cost you a lot less then $1600
In the sticky there is two write-up on installing a intercooler int our first gens.
The first on is mostly intended for intercooled truck and the 2nt one, is gear for non intercooled trucks.
I take it, yours in a non intercooled truck..........So here is my write-up...........Both are in the sticky above!!!!!

IF, Banks has re- releast this kit.........there would be a lot of people interested in the banks grill too!!!!!

Flash,
It's good you've brought that up as yesterday, I was digging around in the Banks site looking some gaskets and noticed they (Banks) have a number of prominently placed warning notices regarding "On-Line" sales of Banks products. I don't recall seeing all that before.
Good info!
. . .. . and I'm just gonna tap-out the replacement gaskets.

Banks nolonger sells complete kits ...I personaly bought a intercooler kit from banks and was told it was the last kit and ...DID NOT have a grill with it! it was an easy install but am still unable to find a grill that fits .
A few weeks back I did an up date to a non intercooled truck.using a parts truck (intercooled parts truck can be had cheep)and converted it to a intercooled truck using all stock parts .it is by far the cleanest way to intercool + a spare Engine was part of the deal after all the parts were removed the truck was junked .
banks has nice stuff but there are better ways to do things

I found a site a few months back with some of the banks kits listed and emailed them to see if they actually had any in stock and they didn't and just hadn't removed the links from their site to the kits.

Yes i have that kit..but its not installed...it came out in 89 and was made for 89 and 90 because it came with a tube grill...my kit came with intake that looks alot bigger than the stock one...also cool emblems and POLISHED tubes and pipes and stuff...i got mine on ebay outta some guys basement.
I've got a dually with the Banks Power Pack. Its good stuff, but I think the combo I've been putting together for my other truck is a far better way to go. I was looking through the paperwork that came with the Bank$ kit, and the instructions include turning in the full power screw. So don't think their power #s are strictly from their kit. Full 4" exhaust kits have gotten really cheap. Good used hx40 and s300 turbos aren't that hard to find. Powerstroke intercoolers come across ebay as well.
I bought my '93 (wish i still had it) with a banks power pack on it, absolutely loved it, it ran extremely well although mine hadn't had the pump touched prior to when i got it, then it got a bunch of turns on the screw. They banks parts were of good quality, except for the guages, one of them was very hard to read at night due to the way it was backlit (don't remember which one off hand though.) But if you have a decent array of tools and some fab skills you will be money ahead converting to either a 7.3 PS or 2nd gen intercooler IMO. Also IIRC the exhaust was 3 inch about half way back and stepped up to 3.5 after that.
