Ball joints
Amazon.com was the best price I found for the moog parts. They were 58 and 68 bucks. Then I called my local parts house and he says he will have the same moog parts tomorrow for 19 and 21 bucks so we will see. Then I gotta rope a buddy of mine with a ball joint press and a lift to help me again. Lol

$20 bucks for MOOG ball joints....I doubt they are true "Moog", probably the off shore cheapies. The $58 and $68 sounds more in line with what they should be. I got my uppers off Rockauto, for about $60.
yeah, i wouldn't trust the "moog" joints for $20. i'd much prefer to buy them new regardless. they'll be in the $50-$60 range for new ones. kinda pricey, but moog is highly recommended for suspension and steering components here.
Well I ordered them they should be here tomorrow. If I dont see moog on them when they come in I wont buy them thats for sure. He said they listed for 60 or so a piece but my cost was like 20 a piece. We will see does sound to good to be true but i dont have anything to loose if they aint right I wont take them. Where can I get the socket for the upper joint???

well if he said the listed for $60 and your price would be $20, it sounds like he's just giving you a deal. however, if they're not in a blue and yellow box that clearly has "Moog" on it, give 'em back and tell him to try again.
Edit: napa has the socket for the upper ball joint but it'll run you about $75 to walk away with it. i forget the exact size but 2 1/8" rings a bell. you might just see if a local shop can install the uppers and press in the lowers along with new bushings for both arms should you decide to replace them, which wouldn't be a bad idea while you have the upper and lower arms out. depends on your budget of course but just my .02.

also because the upper joints require a torque of 125ft. lbs., that wouldn't be so fun to attempt on or off the truck
. plus, you'd want them in there as tight as they possibly can be. i had a shop local to me install mine in the arms and i brought up the question of 125ft lbs., they said "no way, get 'em as tight as possible."

Well today I got the new ball joints. They are not in a blue and yellow moog box. However they are moog joints for sure. The rubber boot has raised letters that say moog and the cap where the grease fitting goes in says moog problem solver. It was 85 bucks with tax for all for joints I think that was a pretty good deal. Now I just gotta put them in. My buddy has a ball joint press and he just happened to have the right ball joint socket. I dont intend to remove the control arms why did you guys remove yours to replace the pivot bushings?
