How do i find out this information. The paper tag under the hood is too faded and beat up. Can not read it. No metal tabs on diffs either. 89 one ton C&C. automatic.

89's with the 727 auto should be the 3.07 ratio.

 

Should be able to run the vin through a vin identifier site.

 

Like Richie O said, with a 727 the only gear available was 3.07's. The only exception to this is the military aircraft tugs.

 

3.07 gears, no doubt about it.

 

For Certain method. Jack up the rear. With a piece of chalk or crayon make a nice big mark on the side of the tire pointing down and another on the drive shaft on bottom or side so you can see it easily. Next rotate the tire slowly around counting the turns. Exactly 3 turns plus .07 gives you 3.07, or 4 full turns plus .11 gives you 4.11 etc. etc. If you need extra visual motivation have your girl friend wear her bikini while turning the wheel for you.
