Attention Delphi lift pump buyers!
I had an oil leak after installing my new lift pump, retorqued the bolts, still leaked. > Pulled the pump this morning thinking maybe I had missed a chunk of the old gasket. The surface of the lift pump where it meets the engine is not flat on my pump, it curves slightly towards the top. ??? I noticed this because the gasket was not compressed at the very top. I put it back together with some RTV silicone, being extra generous near the top :, I hope this will cure it. I'll give the blue goo a couple of hours to set up and report the results. The blue goo should work fine, the surface was only about 1/32 nd out of true. If you have one of these on the way or are thinking of buying one, I'd pitch the gasket and use the blue goo instead. One defective part doesn't mean all these pumps are junk, and it was so cheap that I'm not too p - o'd.

Took the truck out for a 5 mile run. No leaks, the blue goo worked. I don't generally like using the stuff, but sometimes it's the only way.
