Anyone using pdr's 16cm housing?
I called Piers today inquiring about the 16cm housing. The Nice fellow I talked to said they didn't have any of the genuine holset pieces, but did have 16cm housings they had made for them. He told me the downpipe needed to be moved forward 1/8" with their housing. He also said that they were ported to smooth imperfections. Are these as good or better than the holset units. Is anyone here using one from Piers. At $135, sounded like a good deal. Ideas?
When a genuine Holset/Cummins 16 housing can be had for that much or a little more, I'd get the real deal, not a knockoff. I have a 16cm housing that originally came from Piers, but it was before they started selling the knockoffs. Its an original Holset housing. I had no issues with it. Why chance it, when the real thing can be had for the same amount, check out www.htturbo.com.
Edit: Plus try to find one for sale closer to you, they are heavy, shipping isn't cheap. PDR is way out west and in Canada. I'd check out EEP or some more local Ohio vendors, TST out of Indiana, www.scheiddiesel.com as well.

http://www.relentlessdiesel.com/ They also have it for $135. I don't know if it's holset or knockoff.
For what it's worth I wouldn't hold back on this one...I used to work there and I am familiar with the housings...you're getting a good product AND it's ported for no Xtra cost...can't go wrong there....
