Anybody mess with a Transgo kit?
Well, as discussed in another thread here, my turbo's scuffing. With that, I'm gonna take the opportunity to hop things up a bit with a PDR HX35, 14cm W/G turbo housing, and an ATP manifold. A couple or three weeks later, a 4" turbo back exhaust and 190 injectors. Pyro, trans temp, etc gages.
I've read in many threads here that the automatic transmission has its weaknesses. Noting that, I'm gonna install a Transgo kit with an aftermarket, additional 4qt capacity aluminum pan.
I'm no stranger to the innards of a slush-box . . . . . .. .
I am wondering if any of you good folks have experience with the kit and if you had to do it again, would you use a different TV spring? Maybe not drill out this particular hole?
My mess is a '93 W250 4x4 ClubCab with the A518 transmission (3-spd w/OD, non-lockup converter), NP205 transfer case, DANA70 rear, and 60 front axles (370 something ratio I think).
My goal with it all is to help the trans be better capable of handling the additional power without scattering. I may mess with the torque converter later.
What, if any suggestions, warnings, cuss words, etc might y'all have to offer?

Well, I`ve enever installed one but I have heard both sides,some say either it`s not that bad or it`s a pain in the keister. Let us know how you make out, I`m in the market for one as well, soon as ole man winter decides to split.
I've had one in my garage for some time now. Haven't taken to time to install it. I've heard good things from those that have installed but the instructions sound like a pain in the behind.

I installed one in my 727. Don't know how different the 518 valve body is. Probably not much. It was easy enough once you wade through the horrible instructions it only amounted to a couple of modifications to the body and swapping the main control valve. My transmission shifts much firmer and seems wonderful. I want to put one in my '98 12 valve next. A little more apprehensive about it though since it has the locking torque converter and all. Let us know how your fare.
