Any Benefit to insulating the doors?

Well, I have been gathering info and material to finally insulate my cab. I plan to use a form of foil backed carpet padding plus possible an extra pad under the std. carpet. I also plan to use the foil backed stuff up the back interior wall under the window plus up the sides where the jump seats are.

My question is this: Would there be any benefit to glueing insulation inside the doors? I have to beleive it would help, but wondering if it would cause more harm than good as it might hold water, etc.

Anybody got an opinions/feedback? My #1 goal is to quieten the cab.

Thanks!

As long as you don't block the drains at the bottom of the doors and you keep it out of the way of the window regulator it won't cause any trouble. It will quiet things down.

I insulated my doors using a spray urethane foam, same stuff that is used in the construction industry. Lay it in, let it rise, harden, and sand it down if necessary. Was not hard to do, but time consuming. I had to make sure the foam did not interfere with the window mechanics. A long tube helps get the foam into the top of the door.

I did the home depot roof stuff, and helped a lot with sound. Did the doors and behind the seat. Might do the fire wall tomorrow if I don't have to work. At first I wanted to quite it down but now the heat is here Im looking to cool the truck down.

I did my doors last weekend and it mad a huge difference in road noise reduction. I've got some pretty good 6x9's mounted in the doors running off a good amp and it actually made the stereo "thump" a little better too. For the couple hours I spent on it it was well worth it. I used an asphalt-based sound proofing (peel 'n stick) that's very similar to most OEM style stuff but WAY cheaper than Dynamat. Next up is the rear cab wall and side pockets behind the rear speakers. Totally worth it!

Can you share where you got the peel & stick stuff from? All I have seen is the stuff you can get from home depot. Seems the stuff your talking about would be alot easier.
