Amplifier Install?
I searched and I can't find any threads relating to installing an aftermarket speaker amp.
I'm sure to some of you this is going to be a dumb question, but that's what internet forums are for.
I need to supply a small bass amp with power. Where is a good place to draw that power that turns on and off with the key?

The main power run from the battery with a fuse inline,as for the signal for the amp to come on with the radio.. there is a blue wire in the harness plugging into the radio that should say "remote" then ground amp to cab and your in business. You can buy amp install kits that make it much easier from even Walmart.

The amp has a relay inside that turns on and off with the signal from the radio. Put a inline fuse right off the battery and hook it up to the amp. Done properly it won't drain your battery

X2. 4 gauge size wire at a minimum from the battery to the amp with an inline fuse. A capacitor is a good idea as well. Takes the load off of the vehicle's charging system.
Aftermarket head units also have a low-voltage trigger wire, typically labeled "remote," which is what is used to turn the amp on. On Pioneer head units, the wire is blue with a white tracer. In most applications where no amplifier is used, the end of the wire is either capped or tapped.
I've got pictures of the box and amp I stuffed behind my seat. I'll post them when I get the chance to.
