ASA, I bought mine from the person who makes them for Peirs, but now you have to buy from Piers because he stopped selling them direct. It is a great setup.

They are about $200. http://www.pdrdiesel.com/catalog/Systems-37-1.html

Making your own BHAF setup is probably cheaper, mine was only about $120ish to make.

I made my own using an AFE Dry filter $58, (used on their cold air intake for 94+ trucks), it fit to the end of the stock rubber intake tube using a 4" schedule 20 PVC drain pipe coupling as an in-between. removed all the old filter housing and made a seperate compartment at near the fender with a hole for the 4" coupling out of aluminum diamond plate. removed some radiator support sheet metal in the front to allow more cold air easy access.
Results: 3+ more MPG, a bit more power, runs a little cooler, hear turbo wine.

Is there any issues with the open filter design and driving in bad rain storms?
I'd be worried about injesting water thru the filter and into the engine.

You can get a water proof Outerwears to fit just about any shape or size filter. Not a whole lot of water gets in there anyway. The most come from the gap between the hood and fender in my opinion.

After much research, the only ones that had problems were (mostly gas engines) those who had low ram air set-ups and hit big puddles.
In Diesels there have been several engines damaged by K&N oiled filters. Caused by owner error in over oiling. This is why I went with the AFE dry filter.

Kind of along the lines of what I've done except I broke out the angle grinder and cut approx a full square foot out.THEN I started to worry about the possible water issues.

A 45 deg rubber boot 4 inch and a 45 deg exhaust elbow 4 inch works good to. Junk yard for rubber boot 45 cost 5.00 dollars 45 exhaust elbow 35.00 dollars, and 40.00 for bhaf.

Front 45 and rear 45 of the original intake tube just 'happen' to fit exactly into the inside sealed pipe of a 5" furnace pipe( $12.50 ). Wrap the joint and the rubber w/aluminum tape to make it look good. Sounds good, even at 60 mph.
