powerstroke i/c

Underpsi,

i just got my hands on a 2004 powerstroke i/c. its a big mother!!!!! it will fit, but it will be tight!!!!

i got mine for $92.00 off ebay. a heck of a deal. so i couldnt pass it up. one thing is it has the plastic ends. and seeing Jeff's pics, and his is a 2004 ps i/c with no plastic got me wondering. but i tore the bar-code sticker off and the parts guy at ford said it was a 2004 i/c. any ways. like it was said before anything off a newer truck is going to work much better than with out. i cant wait to get mine in,just got to figure out a way to make the A/C condensor fit as well

Ya I need my A/C condensor to fit I spent too much money on it to just disconnect it. I think I can get it all to fit and I will definitely be posting the pics after but this could be still 2 months from now

I guess I will have to measure my IC. I have the later grill (92) and the 03 Dodge IC is huge. It goes from the top of the radiator (I had to move my hood latch way to the drivers side) all the way flush with the bottom of the bumper. I drilled 16 1" holes in the aluminium bumper so the IC could get more air
Dont make me take pictures. I can pull hills at 13K, pushing lots of wind at 5000 elevation, cruize on, at 75 MPH and never get over 800 degrees.
dont get me wrong, install an intercooler if you can, my draw back is I cant get my condensor back on. and thats with the newer first gen grill

Since my truck is a 91.0 i luckly have the new grill. If i had AC on my truck there is NO WAY i could get the condenser back in there without serious mods. The ford IC goes right to the top of the core support, as well as rests on the bumper. I have seen some ford IC's with the plastic ends as well. There is one at the local Autowrecker's. I actually managed to get another one but it's bent up a little as it was hit by a deer. I'm gonna have to try to straighten it out soon. It's for greg's truck as i think he needs the air the most

Do you think the ones with plastic ends are as durable as the ones with aluminum?

Dodge quit using the plastic end IC's on their new models and went back to all metal tanks. Stock trucks were busting IC's. Big pass on plastic.

Also you see how even with Sammy's new style grill he couldn't reuse his AC condensor. DEFINATELY ain't gonna be able to reuse it if you plan on reusing your 89-90 grill.

Jeff

Oh sure, I put up one little smoke video and all the sudden I'm air-deprived

Seriously, thanks for remembering me, Jeff If it's anywhere near as miserable weather where you are as it is here, I hope that IC is still under the deck untill it warms up a bit--I'm not even going outside today, unless I run out of firewood

You think it would be covered under warranty to get the plastic one replaced on a 05 if they stopped using them even if it isn't blown?
Il make sure I get an IC with metal ends I figured the plastic ones were junk

I won't be using my 89-90 grill or the 91-93 grill and im passing on both rad supports as well.
