aftermarket tach from a GMC for a dodge...
I have a tach from my 1991 GMC 350 V8 pickup. It is one of those little SunPro tachs, I believe. Is it possible to hook this up to the plug under the dash? If so, how?
I have yet to find the plug. Not because I can't find it but because of a lack of looking for it.
How many pins are in this plug? What are the functions of the wires? What wire does what?
Sorry I dont have any more info on the tach.

HMMM... There's an idea. If you could replace the numbers on the dial with 1/2 the values, 8 to 4, 6 to 3 etc... so that an 8000 rpm tach goes to 4000 instead and then did the electronics to get it to register it would be OK. I am an electronics engineer so I could probably figure it out but it would probably cost you as much to do it that way as if you'd just bought a diesel tach to begin with.
