Atta boy, Dave.
(didn't want you to hurt your arm while patting yourself on the back)
What pin are you going to buy...a 75? Are there others that may be more aggressive?

Re:AFC eccentric pin

Guys, just a little FYI. I learned yesterday that there are actually 13 different eccentrics that could be in your pump. One owner PMed me and said the eccentric in his was a 56. I dont know what the dimensions are on the other cones, as I have only looked at my 75 and 70. But, I can tell you, the 75 looks alot more agressive.

BTW. Welcome HDM48! Good to have you here.

Monty

Re:AFC eccentric pin

I think the trick would be to have a bunch sitting side by side to measure and compare. But at $65 bucks a pop that wouldn't be cost effective. I wonder who would have a bunch. Do you guys think a Marine pump would have a more aggressive?
I think I need to make a trip down to their shop and talk to the pump guru. I'll post what I find out.

-dave-

Re:AFC eccentric pin

Or maybe, we'll just let Old Smokey do his thing and pounce on him once he gets it all done. I think I like his design better anyway. And the really cool part is, we will know it works.
I wonder what he will do if he gets and order for 1500 of the things on the first day?

dave

Re:AFC eccentric pin

Talked to a couple of guys at the pump shop today. They were pretty tight lipped about the cones and the different sizes, but, it seems that different cones where put in for different turbos and to meet emissions on certain year models. Like the 70 cone in the 92. I dont know of any changes to the non intercooled trucks turbo except the size of the inlet and outlet of the compressor housing. I do know that some industrial VE pumps with the aneroid head came with the 75 pin. They acted like I blew there mind when I told them about the 56 pin in quite a few non intercooled trucks :. Keep digging fellas, we are bound to find out the reason behind all of the changes and the effects of each.

US Diesel parts sent me an intercooled model at first. I thought I could just install my old intake housing rather than getting a replacement...but my housing wouldn't come close to fitting on. So I had to do the swap thing.
Jay
