AC issues - complete rebuild?

I looked back through my records. It was 2017 when I had it in the AC shop. The local AC shop replaced the HPRV due to a leak. They added ester oil and coolant. They said it had been converted to r134a.
According to the CarFax report that same shop worked on the AC in the past. They might have done the conversion. There were two records: July-2014 - system service, add coolant, September-2014 - add coolant.
My guess is there was an issue that still isn't corrected.

I'm Struggling too!
For me, I cannot get the gaskets to seal. I'm not sure if your supposed to install dry or with oil. Nylok leaks. Old retired mechanic suggested coating w loctite.
On reversing retro fits or new compressors. I think they all use pag which clorides in r12 break down into acids.. not good.. esters oils void the compressor warentee.
Good note, I'm working to eliminate gaskets. I'm looking at newer expansion valves which use seals. Or machine the current one for gm seals.
I think the 2001-04 town and country condenser might be a good fit for intercooler trucks. Trans cooler will have to move.
