ABS once again.

I have kind of narrrowed my lack of antilock to either the computer or the diff/ring sensor. Can I hook up a meter to the plug to nowhere (rolls test connector) under left dash to see if I am getting any info from the diff sensor. I have a good pedal, no fault lights and definitely no antilock.

Thanks

Does the ABS light come on when you turn the key on? The bulb might be burnt out/unplugged. It's hard to have no ABS without setting a trouble code.

Yes, the bulb is good and the light does come on when you first turn the key on. It stays on for a couple of seconds. I also did the black wire ground out from the computer thing and just got the ABS light with no codes. I was wondering if the sensor on the diff gear were to come off if the compuiter would know this. I wouldn't think it could while it is just sitting there as it is isolated from the system.

I am pretty sure I have no ABS. When I first leave the driveway they totally lock up wet or dry. I know what they should feel like as my gas powered 96 had them used in a couple of panic stops.

If I hooked a meter to that extra plug what should I see as I drive??

A low AC voltage.

If the sensor is all gunked up with metal shavings you could get no voltage without setting a code. Any break in the circuit will set a code.

I pruned my ABS. Things work alot better now, though still not 100%. Not gonna recommend that you bypass for obvious reasons, but the option is there... for you to decide on your own.

I disconnected the ABS module in my old first gen. Made driving on wet roads and gravel roads much nicer.
