a518 to getrag

Hey guys I got my a518 out gonna have to the leave the engine posted up for a while without the trans while I wait for all the parts for the getrag is the adapter plate a good mounting point to help support the engine? I have a jack with a block of wood underneath the oil pan as well or should I not worry about it really because I'm doing Engine mounts too? Did this in good timing because I was wondering what all the bits and pieces of rubber were when I took the starter out it was the rear main falling apart. Bell-housing arrived today, the starter did also, have my sachs clutch kit, sachs flywheel and flywheel bolts, clutch master and slave, clutch fork, rear main kit, waiting on the driveshaft, and the pedals. Ordering the Getrag on Monday and also need clutch to flywheel bolts.

Jack under the adapter works fine, or you can slide a piece of wood behind the #6 valve cover and the firewall and just let rest against it. Is your truck 2wd or 4wd? With the pedals are your getting the clutch slave cylinder support bracket as well? Starter is the same from auto to getrag so not sure why you would need a different one?

Alright thanks man and it's 2 wheel drive I'm working on getting the pedals and the support bracket along with the driveshaft those will probably be the last 2 things to go in. Yea I know the starter is the same I bought a new one because mine still has the factory starter just want to replace it so I dont come across any issues.

Do not throw away your OEM starter....with a new brush kit and misc parts they will outlast almost any aftermarket starter out there.
