a518 dipstick tube

Anyone know where I can get one? Discontinued by Chrysler and only one dealership in the country and I can get it if I absolutely have to but shipping will kill me. Brandon has scoured out local junk yards and I don't think there are any diesels. Any ideas before I go pay through the nose for shipping?

Are you sure they are different between diesel and gas? I don't see why they would be different but I have been wrong before lol.

What is the problem with your old one. If it is broken you should be able to braze it back together. If that is not possible get yourself a 1/4" bandsaw blade and mark it using a good one for location and attach you cap off the old one. if you don't have a cap you should be able to rig somtning up ith a copper tubing cap.
Pardon the make shift but while I don't farm anymore I used to.

the dealer said there was a difference between it and a gasser style bill so i'm not sure. and Del one of the installers at the shop didn't like the layout and we came in one day and he reorganized the entire shop and moved all my parts while the trans was out of the truck. so currently i don't have one, and i noticed it as i was ready to install the trans.

How much could the shipping possibly be? $20 ?

It doesn't weigh anything, and you might pay a surcharge to ship an "oversize box", but it shouldn't make you miss your mortgage payment.

In the meantime you can use JB Weld on it as a temp repair..... or that spray on rubber stuff that's all over the tube.

Call these guys. They charge $10 for shipping for most items.

Nebraska to south jersey and the person in parts can't find the physical part even though its listed in their inventory. Might have to do the lokar one after all. I'm feverishly looking for this thing now, I want my truck back lol

Just use a gasser one with the matching dipstick and you will be fine I would think.

One off a truck with a 47rh trans will work. Don't know if that helps you.

Any dipstick from a 727 / A518(46RH) to a 47RH/RE will work just fine as they all plug into the same spot in the case. They may have different mounting tabs higher up the pipe, even a slightly different length, pending the engine though. No big deal. Just use the correct (matching) dip-stick, with a given pipe.
