Does anyone know where to get a turbo timer for a 1993 Dodge Cummins diesel?

DSG has a turbo timer its about $150 or so.

As all we need do is keep the fuel solenoid energized I was wondering if the cheap ones off flea bay would work shouldn't be rocket science.

Exekiel69 a turbo timer keeps the engine running some period of time either manually set, pre set or calculated by run time etc. so it cools down before shutting down you turn off key and walk away the timer lets the engine run until the turbo is cool before shutting off the engine.
Idea being a hot turbo starved of oil (by the engine being turned off abruptly especially after a hard run or pull) turns the remaining oil to carbon and shortens the life of your turbo.

I wait until the pyro reads less than 300*. That is the most. Normal 275* or so. Don't know about yours or not but it takes a heck of a lot longer that 10 seconds.

BD diesel performance does, also. it is too bad Howard Van Fleet quit making them for DTR members. Very excellent product for the price, which was a lot cheaper than commercial setups.

I'd really like to get the ISSPRO temp monitor because I've already got a (ISSPRO) pyro. Thing is, in the instructions they say to mount the probe for the monitor POST turbo. Of course my probe is PRE turbo. Why? How much temp difference is there between pre and post turbo?

Just to give ya a fast responce I think from what I have read about 300*. I do not know. But I think this is close. Someone else will know for sure.

I just got my isspro timer in the other day. Not installed yet, I've just been watching the gauge.

Wait, what if your EGT never gets below 400 when idling? Is that bad? Granted the ambient temp is about 102 when it does that...

Well I have towed some pretty heavy loads in temps of 100* or more in the mountains. It takes a longer for egt's to come down but they should. Now remember ya gotta turn off the air condtioning If you don't they stay up there a bit.
