93 D250 manual transmission

I found an add for a 93 D250 with a manual trans. Is that a NV4500? I know 94 up had NV4500 but am unsure about the 93.

Thanks

93 would have a getrag 360. The nv4500 didnt come along in the diesel trucks till 94. Unless someone did a swap at some point.

I was thinking Dodge started using the NV in 94 but was not sure. How does the getrag 360 compare to the NV?

I am doing a swap into a 77 F250 CrewCab and want a manual. I have a 95 2500 with a 47RH but was thinking about getting a manual as the Crew is a manual now. Using the 47rh i only have about 5" for a driveshaft between the divorced transfer case. The manual will allow more room.

The getrag is a good trans just make sure you over fill it by one quart.

The getrag will be fine It's a pretty good trans, just over fill it by 1 quart so 5 qts total. 5w30 synthetic motor oil

Would you guys trust the Getrag to pull 12K trailers? Be aware my F250 is a CrewCab 4X4 so it weighs 7K+ before the swap. I am running 4.10's with 36.5"X 14" tires so the ratio works out like a 2WD with a 3.53 and normal tires. I will be doing some mild mods making may be 300HP.

Where is the A/C compressor located on the 93? It is down low on the right side under the alternator on the 95 and that makes it hard to get it to fit in the frame rails of the F250. I assume it is in the same place on the 93.

Talked to the owner today and found out this truck is four wheel drive. That throws a hammer in the works.

What kind of transfer case does Dodge use on the 93 Getrag? I assume a NP205. From the pics in another thread I see the 93 is passenger side drop. That will not work with the Ford Dana 44 axle! I wonder if I can tear down both transfer cases and swap the input shaft and mounting to my divorced NP205 so I can get driver side drop.

This may not be that good a deal after all.

wow it's 4x4?

Yes it's a NP205 29 spline input. basicly made of solid gold.

if you tear that T-case apart someone will probably hunt you down lol

They would forgive me when they see what I am trying to build unless they hate Fords. Then they would give me a hard time about it but still wish they had one.

May be I could work a trade if someone had a 2wd Getrag, NV4500 or NV5600 but that would have to be discussed in another section or PM.

From what I have read so far the case housings are different between the mated 205 and divorced 205 so this project direction may be coming to an end unless I use the parts to trade. I need to find a 2wd getrag or a 94 up mated manual.
