'93 Auto trans slips in reverse

Thanks in advance for any help- my pride and joy started slipping in reverse and only reverse. I drop it in "R" and it begins to creep backwards normally, but slips when I apply the skinny pedal. When I let off, it seems to grab again and pick up speed, but starts to slip again when I try to accellerate. Before youse guys ask why I'm juicing it in reverse, I park my truck at the loading dock at the end of an alley. A looong alley.
Thanks!
Robbo

I'm not 100% but I believe that you can adjust the reverse band from under the truck. I don't know exactly where but hopefully some one will chime in. Please tell me if I'm wrong.

Yep. Gotta drop the pan to get at the screw though.

Another vote for a band related problem, the other element applied is the front clutch, wich if that was the problem would show up as slippage in 3rd gear as well. Reason it does`nt slip in 1st is the sprag is the holding element in 1st D range and the low/rev brake doesnt come on till you pull into manual low (L1). Drop the pan and service the unit whilst yer in there, nothing to loose except some coin for the fluid and gasket.

you want just under an 1/8 '' of play on the low /rev band
