Door Removal
I had the same thing happened on my Dakota. Make sure your window is up then remove the door panel unhook all the wiring and carfully snake them out of the door and let them rest between the door and the jam. Take a long thin punch and remove the lower hing pin. When you remove the upper pin you have to loosen the top hinge or you will put a big gouge in the door, trust me
it happened to me. The reason I say to leave the hinge on the door is so that you can get the hing strait on the bottom, then what I did on my truck was I made up a plate of 1/8" steel and welded on the inside of the door (make sure it is larger than the hinge area) behind the hinge but be careful welding the metal is pretty thin. While you have it all apart you might want to get a hinge bushing kit, if you didn't already, and install that also. Hope this helps some.

leave it alone and it will fall off by itself...
That's the plan I am on... I'm almost there!
