Hello all, I'm new to all this and interested in getting a 92 dual 2WD, with a 5.6L engine, it seems to be a good deal, but I can't find any information these older trucks such as HP, fuel consumption, and engine type, (assuming it's a Cummins) I've been told it's all stock. 2WD is that front? Is there anything I should cautious about, tips? Sorry like I said I'm a n00b thanks for any information.

 

Well hello there! Just some info that I know that I can help with.

The 5.9L Cummins diesel engine is a very basic and powerful engine. A 92 would have about 160 hp and 400 tq. The average gas mileage I get in a 93 4x4 3/4 ton is 16.5 mpg.

Now with it being a 92 it might have the "Lagmaster" turbo in it. It takes a little time for it to spool. Once it spools you will feel the engine gain alot of acceleration. Also as a bonus it has a intercooler. This keeps the incoming air a little cooler for better combustion. Also it adds ponies.

FYI, all trucks are either rear-wheel or 4x4. Also since you say it is a dually it would be a 1 ton.

Are you sure it has a 5.6L engine in it? If so, then it might be a gasser. Look out for rust right above the windshield. If it has some, RUN from it.

even with a gasser it wont be a 5.6, 5.2 or a 5.9 is the gas motors
