8" gasser springs
8" gasser springs
hello, i am wantign to lift my truck another 4 inches and my only way to do this is with 8" springs for gasser, will these be fine? or will they sag to much?
from what i hear they will work but will sag equating to a similar amount of lift to the 6 in. skyjacker diesel springs.so if your running 4 inch springs now and you'll gain 2 with the springs your gunna need to come up with an extra 2 inches. you coul cheat and make longer shackles or a spring mount spacer like i have seen on here.
The 8'' skyjacker springs are only good for 6" FYI.. For the front, the biggest I know from Skyjacker is 6" also.. IF you already have the springs I would look into some shackle modifications, that way your not just throwing money out the door on new springs again.. With the front you could probably get 2-3" with the shackles and you could gain at least 8" in the back and your possibilities become endless!!
I'm running those gasser 8" in the front - Call me crazy but I'm still convinced it gives a little more lift then the 6" Diesel Skyjacker, maybe my eyes are just crooked
In any case the Diesel lift is usually cheaper by about $50 from what I remember. But like DNR said you should look into some shackles, they are a very cheap mod to gain some extra lift.

im also running the 8in gassers in my 75, originally had the 440 in it and the cummins droped it 1in lower than the 440, but making new hangers and shackles would be the cheaper way to go and wont change you ride quality
alright yeah i was thinking of doing the rear hangers like DNR has and the spacer block for the front hanger and shakles for it, i dident wanna waste money if it just sagged to 6". thanks guys!

i'm also running the 8'in gasser springs, at first was not to happy because of the sag on the front drivers side, after Skyjacker gave me another to replace the sagging spring, then it started sagging again! but turned out to be shot bushings (greased them to install
not suppose to) replaced them and been good for about a year now. Still sags but only about 1/2in cant really notice and still ride real good

oohhh ok, well i found some bad damage under my truck, so the lift wont be for a while, my rear end had some bad axle wrap, whitch forced the driveshaft to bottom out and force my carrier bearing crossmember to bend upwards to the cab and hit my gas tank and bent the transmission crossmember. nott happy should of gotten traction bars long ago.
