727 kickdown cable

How is the kickdown cable set up for the 727 tranny? I had a manual and with the 727, I dont have any of the linkages. Some pics would be nice too. Also, could I make it out of a real rod instead of cable?

Thanks

Jon

I think that you are going to have to put a cable in I don't think that you could do it with a rod. Here is a pic of mine, if you look at the lower right you will see the "slotted" part that is the end of the cable at the "throttle" side and the other end goes into the trans.

If the trans came with a cable you should be able to just put some kind of pin for the slotted end to ride in. Sorry the pic isn't more focused but it's all I have right now.
Hope this helps some.

Older torqueflites had rod linkages for the kickdown, but I'm pretty sure it'd be way easier to install a cable.
