If I had the truck at work I would have immediately gone outside and tried to follow it to see where the heck it goes..... I figured either the engine was swapped or the trans was converted.

Since 1st gen trucks seem too be new to you. Are you sure that cable doesn't go to the cruise control?
Both the TV and cruise cables attach to the same area on the throttle linkage.

Oh that could very well be it actually. Mine does or did have Cruise until the on off switch exploded a few weeks ago when I tried to on/off reset it

I hope the explosion didn't hurt your hand. Get any shrapnel in your face or legs? ( just me being humorous.)

lol you jest but 3 pieces went flying, the top part of the switch cover thing that you actually press off on flew and bounced off the door panel, a tiny spring i think, the half a second i saw it looked kinda like the spring in a click type pen, hit me in the face, and i still dont know what or where the third piece went.

Valve lash question, when adjusting them, do you want the feeler guage to feel like it wants to catch but still move or do you just barely want to tell there is contact on the stem and rocker?

Exhaust valve on either 4 and 6 or 3 and 6 were so tight couldnt get a .010 in. Adjusted them to .020. Had a few intake valve that were lose, adjusted them to .010. The rest were pretty close so left them be. I think its a little quieter, hard to tell. Exhaust sound isnt as bad, still sounds gutless as all hell coming out of the tail pipe. 3.5 inch exhaust and a banks muffler. I just kinda wish the exhaust sounded more like every other diesel i sit next to at traffoc lights.

It does feel better, smoother driving with the lash adjustmadjustmeust dont ha e the knowledge or experience to tell if its a significant improvement or just significant placebo effect.

Dynamite Diesel Products builds those injectors. I talked to a guy that works for PDD, he admitted that. I have 2 sets of the DDP nozzles in the Stage III. You will probably need to have someone tweak that VE more than what you have. I had THD rebuild and modify mine. Hopefully running this weekend. Can't recommend them unless you want a 5-6 month turn around. Ratman performance might have a faster turn around. From PDD- "Note: VE Rotary injection pump should at bare minimum have an upgraded fuel pin installed or little to no gain will be seen from injector upgrade."

If you can scare up a rebuildable VE contact Ratman. Not sure what all goes into modifying the VE. He does sell some high volume delivery valves for $250 per set. I did know where to buy a HP cam plate. Lost the link. I can find it again.

I looked into these Valves in the past before having my pump rebuilt and resealed. Reached out to THD about them and he said they have zero effect for these trucks. I was thinking about buying a new pump from him and using my old as a core as I've had great dealings with him thus far with misc worn out exterior parts for the pump, seal kits, fuel pin, gov spring, magic bullet, braided afc hose, ksb spacer, but he only uses PayPal. Apparently, now PayPal wont let me check out as guest without creating an account. I would but [INSERT YOUR CHOICE EXPLETIVES HERE] PayPal, I have reasons for being completely against them. That's the only reason I bought my HVLP from poormans. I wanted to buy it from THD and even reached out for another payment option but never heard back.

You can probably source that switch at a wrecking yard as the early dodge dakotas used the same one.

story was Eric got really sick and things fell behind. I assembled my own HVLP pump aft
er watching a 1stgenhub video. Never installed it. I went to a 98.5 CTD Carter pickup assembly electric pump that does 18lbs according to my gauge.

IIRC Ratman charges $2150 to mod your IP. Nobody as far as I know comes close to what these guys do.

I remember him being Ill a few months back, I thought it was something like a spider bite but I cant remember. I just tried to order my HVLP last week and broke down and ordered from Poormans because I knew my ne injectors would be here and installed by Weds(2 days ago)

BTW I was just down your last Sun-Tues on vacation in Franklin. Went up to the Country Music hall of fame. Saw 4 or 5 first gens while I was in the area. On the way I saw several in Orange Virginia too

Poorman's last time I ordered was good. Experiences with them have always been good. Just you can't look at your purchase history. When I ordered my IP rebuild I was told 6 weeks. Someone at a different supplier laughed and said Eric was usually 3 months+ out . During that time he did the VE dyno contest at Firepunk diesel. He came in 2nd place. Ordered and delivered before the he got the spider bite. I got too many excuses and at one point asked for a refund and my core back. He finally got it to me. I am glad he has recovered. 1st Gen supplier's are like gold to me.

I was picking up in Franklin twice this week. Never been to the Music hall of fame. Tonight is the 100th anniversary at the Opry. I had a press pass there as a photographer at the 75th. Got to meet a bunch of stars.

I have a spare IP. After the first of the year it will go to Ratman.

Well HVLP was ordered on the 18th or 19th.
Tracking# recieved on the 20th.
Reached out on the 23rd to inquire about why it hadnt been delivered to the courier yet.
Rok Hefti told me it would ship on the 24th or the 27th.
reached out again a few minutes ago albiet passive aggressively asking "Friday or Monday?".
Rok immediately replied back with "I refunded your money so you can buy from a better supplier".

Can anyone recommend anyone else that offers the 4988747 conversion kit with a payment option that isnt PayPal? Preferably someone more transparent? I dont mind lead time as long as its stated up front.
