47RH stand alone

Well, looks like my HGH Compushift Mini has Altheimer's. Also looks like the manufacturer has discontinued them. So, what is left out there? I'm finding stuff for 47RE, but not RH. I need something that is automatic and varies with TPS and speed inputs.

Sorry to hear that. I've been on their list for years waiting to get one.

I am sorry to hear that.

I have one of their units on my shelf for my 2wd Ramcharger build.
I hope it works well and I have no issues with installing it, now that there sounds like there is no support if I have problems.

I have spoken with the guys over at Firepunk about their controller called the "Anteater" IIRC. It is more built for the RE and is was a lot more $$$ that the Comp. Mini.

I thought I might use this if my TPS ever goes out, or I do a 47RH swap.
But I don't know if you could have lockup in 3rd with a 47RH.

The Compushift has served me well for a long time. Very few complaints. Not as intuitive as I would have liked though. I did email Mike at HGH and he said the Mini 3 will be coming out in the next couple of weeks or so. Curious to see what that will be like. In the meantime, this may be an option. 727518DK RH Diesel Kit (transmissioncenter.net) Your engagement points will be at fixed speeds, but by adding switches you can override their function as needed. The only drawback is if you have a 4wd. The shift plate is in the way of the pressure port. So that will require some hacking skills. The other option is if you are skilled in programing and use one of those minicomputer boards, you can make your own. If I hadn't lost so many brain cells over the decades, I'd attempt it. Just a simple on/off ramp around two variable inputs, TPS on one side and speed on the other side of the line. You can have 1 ramp for OD and 1 for lockup. Set mins and maxes for each. Should be simple for a kid that is growing up with current technology.

I looked at that but question how well that would work with our vacuum pumps. On our diesels, the vacuum rises with RPM (slightly if you have a good pump) were as a gas engine's manifold pressure varies with throttle and load.

So, there is a Compushift Mini 3 in the works that is not far out?
Hopefully the price is not a lot more.

I checked their website and they are not even listing any Dodge automatics on their options.

Could you share any details about the upcoming Mini 3 or your E-mail with Mike at HGH?

Like I mentioned in the last post, the website does not list any Dodge automatics for options anymore.

He gave no details, just that it was a month or so out. The last version was Bluetooth, which sucks for me. I prefer my original with the keypad. In any case I'm sure it won't be cheap. OD still works, so I'll disable TC lockup for now and drive it like a 518 until I can get around to fixing or replacing it.

I wanted to report that I did just get my Compushift Mini 3 in today via UPS. I've been on the update list for a really long time, since before the Compushift Mini 2 restock. I recently emailed Mike at HGM and he asked me to call him, so I did. He said they're just about ready with the full restock but he has a few units left (I'm guessing from an early run?), and he sent me an invoice after discussing my needs for my truck, which I paid, and then got it delivered today. I would expect others on the list or needing a CSM3 should be able to get their hands on them very, very soon.

I was about to give up on HGM getting the CSM3 in stock, and was working on an Arduino option to do the same thing. It wouldn't be nearly as polished of a system, but I think it could easily be done. Now that I have my CSM3 the Arduino project is on the back burner, but I might still do it someday. If I ever do get it done, I'll do a write-up and open-source the code. I know that doesn't help anyone right now who doesn't want to go with the CSM3, but it's really, as far as I can tell, the cheapest option for a fully automatically controlled OD/Lockup on a 47RH.

I think (infuses on think) I may have found a solution. I was prowling the net looking for some DIY circuits and tripped over this.
It was intended as a multiple preset speed warning, but I think it can be modified to act similar to the CompuShift, but for a whole lot less money. I will need to build a mockup, modify it and then test it to see if it will work.

Looks like it is listed for $708 on their website and you have to pre order it.
Controlled by an App on your phone is a lame option for me too, as I don't do cell phones.

Cougar any luck sorting this out while the Alaska winter is in full swing?

I haven't looked at it any further. My attention has been on other things. Turning out to be a bad winter. Trying to keep my roofs from falling in, my driveway cleared, and my other vehicles running.
