47RH Fluid Capacity?
What is the approximate trans fluid capacity of the 47rh minus the trans/engine coolant cooler thing on the passenger side? I bought ten quarts and it's not enough.

Well my fine group down at NAPA told me a flush adn fill was 10Q and that isn't even registering on the dipstick in "N" hot idle. So I just picked up another 4Q's and will get that in there one at a time and will post back with the results. Thanks JD.

The capacity isn't even in the ATSG rebuild manual. Anyone have a 94-95 FSM? That would only be helpful if it has the OEM pan on it. Keep filling it. I remember wondering were the gallons were going after I rebuilt mine and had a deep pan on it.

Many autos are about 16 qts , the 47R is 14 by memory .
You may not want to rely on the Napa guys , I have run the flush machines , and the way I did , was to keep going till the fluid looked new , a 16qt trans may go over 20 qts to flush , flush means clean , many forget or do not know .
