4000lbs axel?
4000lbs axel?
I'm looking into buying new rotors and the parts stores keep asking if I have a 3300 lbs axel or a 4000 lbs axel. What does this mean and how can I tell? I have a 93 dualy 2 door extended cab 2wd. BTW, I've noticed that the rotors for the 4000 are cheaper.
Exactly! But it won't say exactly 4,000 lbs. It's something more like 3800 or 3900.
The exception to that location is if the truck was sold as an incomplete vehicle originally i.e. cab/chassis - The sticker is under the hood... Mine does label it as a 4000lb axle

They were talking 2 wd. Being a 350 diesel it "should" be the 4000 lb axle. The lower control arms are VERY different. Go to Reg 's thread about a 75 conversion and he has a bunch of pictures on his web site of the 4000 axle/control arms.
